Good morning,

Okay, it's been about 20 years since I set foot in a gym. I wouldn't know what to do with a piece of exercise equipment if I had one. However, I've done a bit of yoga, and I've been walking and running. But now I'm ready to get fit and buff! Okay, maybe not buff but a little firmer! Please tell me your favorite gyms in Hiram and Dallas that would cater to someone like myself. I'm going to need a little bit of instruction I'm sure!

Thanks a bunch!

I go to American Body Works in Hiram. I like it there, the owner runs a tight ship and keeps it clean.

I had a membership at Bodyplex in Hiram for a while and really liked the group classes (I know nothing about the weights and other machines) and free childcare!! I especially liked the RPM class, it was a real butt kicker for me....maybe I need to rejoin b/c I've had 2 babies since I set foot in there...I know several people that still go and like it. Good luck finding the right place!!

If you are looking for something other than a gym environment, I own the Jazzercise center in Dallas on Merchants Drive in the Paulding Plaza. Though we welcome men, right now there are only women.

Don't know what Jazzercise is? Well, it is a 60-minute group fitness class combining cardio, strength, and stretch moves for a total body workout. We’ve taken moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training and bundled them into one hour. All ages, levels, and sizes welcome so come join us today!

We are offering a special right now where you can take unlimited classes for the rest of the year for only $50 plus a $50 joining fee. That special ends on Saturday, Oct 31, SO HURRY IN!! You are welcome to come in and try a class for FREE. Just mention that we talked on p.com.

I workout at BodyPlex and love it, it took me a year to try their classes, I just used the treadmill and weights, but once I tried their classes I was hooked! They have a bunch of classes. They have a class schedule on their website with times, I havent tried all of them. But I am addicted to BodyPump its a full body weight class, and there cycling class is my cardio I do for the week now. I think most of the classes last an hour, and the cycling class is 45mins
