My husband, children, and I will be participating in the 2009 walk to fight ALS in honor of my father-in-law Buddy Lyle. I have joined the ALS team Buddy’s Babes to help raise money to find a cure. I know times are tough at the moment, but even $5.00 can go towards care for and support those living with ALS while advocating for a cure.
I will be doing my part to support those who are facing ALS, their families, and friends. But I can't do it alone. I need your help.
There are not too many people that are aware of what this disease entails. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive fatal neurodegenerative disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages two to five years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
By supporting the ALS Associaiton of Georgia, you are taking an important step in the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease. The ALS Association of Georgia is the only nationally affiliated non-for-profit health organizations dedicated solely to the fight against ALS. The mission of the ALS Association is to find a cure for and improve living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
