It's about that time! It's in the air already.... can you smell it????

It's time for all those Raiders' Haters to emerge and the rumors to start flying about how small, slow, weak, inexperienced, etc. the Raiders look this year -- and let's not forget the most popular -- The head coach is leaving!! laugh.gif

So, get out your "thick skin" again -- and get ready.

It's FOOTBALL TIME!!!!!!!!

I LOVE ME SOME RAIDERS!!!! RAIN OR SHINE, HOME OR AWAY, WIN OR LOSE, I WILL BE IN THOSE STANDS CHEERING THEM ON!!!!

I love my #23 Raider!!!

Oh yes, I can't wait to start ringing that Cowbell again. The Jamboree is Next week, looks like we got Douglas of Atlanta coming to town. I really hate that we couldn't just play Paulding or Hiram, or South Paulding in a Jamboree game. But hey its ok, we got a team full of track stars coming into the Boneyard next week. Can't wait to see what the boys look like.

Yes, apparently he did -- unfortunately my 2 year old was entirely too hot and "couldn't" sit down any longer. sad.gif She had to be up and walking around to "tool off" -- so I missed it! UGH! ohmy.gif

I looked in the boys closets for the curtains and didn't see them -- HOWEVER, my dear husband packed up some stuff into a rubbermaid tub and put that tub in the shed. Of course, I meant to look for them and didn't -- story of my life. I will do my very best to look today! so sorry!!!

Were you at the same game?? An EP Lineman punched a Douglass Astro's player and was taken out of the game.. His dad even went to talk to the Ref at half to plead his son's case. I was just wondering the outcome...

If the player is suspended for 1 game? 2 games? the season?

Practice game or not... an EP player used his fist against the oposing team and was taken out of the game by the officials. wink.gif

Does anyone know the outcome or is it still be decided?

So why was he ejected? and what was or is the outcome?

According to his mom " XXXX was taken out of next weeks game for hitting a player"

Is that the final outcome?

rofl.gif rofl.gif THERE IT IS! I KNEW IT WAS COMING!!! rofl.gif rofl.gif

Okay, hopefully I won't get completely blasted on this one .... but .....

I understand Coach Reid is a very disciplined coach and there are people that have their problems with him.... however, I can only speak on my personal interactions and dealings with him.... look what he has done with our football program!!!! When I first moved to Paulding County, EPHS couldn't win a game! That cannon rarely went off and the games were certainly not packed. Yes, there was school spirit, but nothing compared to what it is now! Now they are one of the top in the state. Both of my kids have tremendously improved their football skills since playing under Coach Reid and every other coach on the team -- which is really the only thing I'm concerned about so that they can (hopefully) take what they learn from great coaching on with them to college. Yes, Coach Reid is extremely STRICT, disciplined, hard, and very intense ..... but that's football! Maybe I'm used to it because that's exactly how my husband coached my boys since they were 5? He was definitely an intense coach -- perhaps even too intense ... but we won 5 super bowl championships and kids he coached back then still call him and invite him to games now. biggrin.gif unsure.gif

I'm not bashing anyone for having their opinion of Coach Reid. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have no idea of the situation that occurred to make you feel that way.

I can only say that I don't think my kids could get better coaching elsewhere. We have an extremely dedicated and knowledgeable group of coaches at EPHS and I couldn't be happier with what my kids have learned from them. I want my boys to be disciplined, confident, knowledgeable and intense out there on that field!

okay, stepping off soapbox now.... sorry.

I for one, would be overjoyed to see Coach Reid leaving.. but I was only asking about the player who hit the other team's player to see what the outcome was for the team... or the punishment given by the association.

I have a total different opinion of the Coach from my experiences.. but everyone will come away with their own opinion after dealing with him. smile.gif

I do wish my boys a great season. smile.gif I miss seeing them all the time and a lot of them text me.. they are like second sons who still call me Mom!!! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

I did not see any "coach bashing" in this thread. It is a known fact that the man has been interviewing every year at other schools for coaching positions. He just has not been offered the jobs.
However he has been a finalist, just not chosen. lol.

BTW - It takes A LOT more than just winning football games to make a good coach!!!

Ok winning might not be everything, but almost every player was eligable to play this fall, meaning they are how pass all of their require classses to play, This was not situation prior to Coach Reid, There is more school pride how than ever

Thank for recognizing that winning is NOT everything.. (even though you added a "might not" .. It's 100% NOT everything..)

Yes, Coach Reid is able to bump some grades.. LOL. He is the reason my son "passed" a class. wink.gif I wish his grade had not been bumped, but what can you do?!?!? Hind sight is 20/20!

School Pride is great!!! I'm 100% for school pride!

Honestly, I'm sorry your family has had them -- from what I understand, your kids are great ... on and off the field!!

Knock on wood - quick!!! LOL!!! Just kidding! I didn't see this Topic as a Reid Basher....

A player hitting another player and asking the outcome is not bashing Reid!!!

Reid interviewing at other schools is not bashing him....

Thanks! This man child's mom misses being out there!!! lol..

Good gracious -- there better not be any bumping of grades with either one of my kids!!! I will come unglued! laugh.gif

We have our own set of "eligibility guideline" in our house -- if you get a "C" -- no sports AT ALL for you!!! Yes, "technically" they are eligible to play. But to me, if you get a "C", that just means that mine need more time in the books and less time on the field/court. biggrin.gif So unless my two bring home all A's and B's .... no football, basketball, baseball or track for them!!

*knock on wood* -- it's worked so far ... but we still have some years to go. laugh.gif
I love my #23 Raider!!!

you are the bomb!! Same with my son, he is prolly more concerned with grades than football (he loves football) it is important to him to succeed at everything. he is a perfectionist, and sets high standards for himself.

Same here my son knows what we expect from him as far as grades, I hope there is never a sicuation where Reid would feel the need to step in, Becasue I feel he needs to coach football and I will worry about my son grades. There are some jobs for parents to help with the football team ie Keep up on with your sons grades
